A new year a new rescue

Just when i thought i was done rescuing ( at least till we move to a bigger house ) I got a call about kittens stuck in a drain pipe.

Reluctantly, i went along, knowing fully well that they rarely make it out of this situation alive.

Only one baby made it out alive, fragile and hurt, but alive. The tiger was stuck for 4 long days without food or water, all of 20 days of age, his angels were truly watching out for him. We got him cleaned up and took him to Doctor Cat. His tiny body is full of abrasions, debris and malnourished.

The vet has started him on a precautionary dose of Augmentine ( anti-biotic ) to prevent septic shock and needless to say the little one came home.

He eats Kitten Milk Replacement  formula and Whiskas Junior Tuna pouches.

His eyes have just about opened and he’s loving his new surroundings.

He will be up for adoption once he fully recovers and starts his vaccinations. Until then, foster dogs siblings are keeping him busy wagging their tails at the little kitty baby!

Wish him love and luck!

What do your fur-babies like to eat?

I LOVE cooking for my brats, its a home cooked meal always, unless i am absolutely stressed for time or meat is low in supply.

The brats eat 2 meals a day of boneless chicken, fresh from the butcher ( none of that preservative loaded supermarket junk) , slightly overcooked with rice and vegetables – sweet potatoes, carrots, beans and peas  topped with a pinch of thyme.

For a snack they eat Pupcake treats – a home made treat made in Sasha and Calvin ( the beagles ) fantastic kitchen, ordered via facebook !

and on days when meat is out of supply, they eat Royal canine dry food and they hate it.

2013 its a wrap

2013 is officially over.

But i’ll always remember 2013 for all the special wags and woofs.

It was in 2013 that i mustered up the courage to quit my crappy job.

i fostered Pepper and Button my first two fosters of the year. The adorable Indy sister pups stole our hearts and got a fantastic home with Mr. Iqbal and family.

Then i found little Scooter AKA my Scooty boy. Sitting with a wound on the road, a wee 30 day old baby, tired and hungry.

He didn’t get adopted at the adoption drive, and came home forever 🙂

In came a kitten, one evening, found by the kids in the neighbourhood.

She stayed on for a while until she was healthy enough for adoption.

Kitty June found one of the best homes with other cats at dogs at Ms. Jacobi’s house.

We had Dobby, the coonhound pup thrown out of his house, a bad adoption and some more time at his foster home before he found his forever home with James Aunty , his sister Raisin and Big Bro Olive.

Toffee, a little baby girl running amidst traffic was picked up for a dear animal rescuer, she came home, ate well, got her vaccines and found a home with Mr. Rakesh.

Coffee, 1 month old girl was a sweet lil one we found scavenging for food on the road, she is still in foster care and is 4 months now, loving girl needs a home.

Chloe, the abandoned Lhasa found her family who promised to love her forever and ever.

Brownie Pup , my miracle baby survived hell , a bad adoption and finally the most amazing home with Danny and Sonali and big Sis Smokie.

2013, you have been so blessed.

I faced darkness when i lost Raamnathan, my street baby to severe injuries, Chilli my road rescue to rabies, every story of abuse makes me cry at night, every hungry deprived dog on the streets makes me want to die..

But these happy tails ❤ they keep me going

I will forever be grateful to 2013, for my amazing amazing amazing partner , my amazing BRATS, who love me and hug me even though i spend half my time running behind and worrying for a foster/rescue.

Christmas

I have some great news.

This X-mas has given us so much to be happy for, Brownie Pup went to his forever home, and his mumma sent me a photo of their X-mas celebrations, i’m sharing it here, our boy LOVES to sleep on the couch, play with Smokie his Indy Sister and EAT LOTS.

Doesn’t he look cute with his X-mas hat sitting with his loving mumma? 🙂

And then.. On X-mas day we played Santa-Paws to all the street doggies, feeding them up with Pedigree and biscuits ( which is a daily affair.. 🙂 ) when we found this lil munchkin who joined our street babies for the evening meal.

AND WE BROUGHT HER HOME 🙂

Say hello to the newest foster baby, she’s undergoing treatment for some bad skin, gotten de-wormed and will be vaccinated soon. She LOVES to eat and is quite the brat.

Here is proof 😀

Annnd i’ve been waiting for some good news before i post on this, we found an abandoned labrador lying on the road unable to move, after a whole bunch of tests we were relieved there were no broken bones, but she is still unable to move her hind legs and stand up; a possible spinal compression has paralyzed her hind legs.

After days of therapy, she stood..for a whole minute… WE ARE SO SO PROUD OF HER… it will take a while..we are not even sure, but we have so much hope now that she will be able to stand and walk soon.

Here are some photos of our angel

I can’t wait for her to get discharged from the vet clinic and come home 🙂

Merry Christmas and a happy new year y’all 🙂

Hug your animals!!!

Our Superstar

Remember Brownie Pup? our lil champ has been with us for 3 months now survived a bad accident, recovered, fallen ill and recovered yet again…but guess what, he got adopted today!!!

At the adoption drive held in Chetpet, my little baby found his family, they came, they looked at him and it was love at first sight.

A tight hug and this lil fella went home with them, they are already parents to a rescued dog Smokie from a previous adoption drive.

Please wish Brownie Pup and long healthy and very happy life, i miss him dearly, i am so used to opening my mum’s room door and being greeted by this furbaby, my brats miss him even more, they have troubled him, eaten his food, stolen his toys and curled up against him so so many times, but we send him love and happiness and want him to shine ❤

Here is a photo of him taken with his family

Update on Brownie Pup

Brownie pup, my foster baby got adopted and returned in a span of 24 hours, the family wasn’t happy with his skin (he’s been suffering from scabies and under treatment) SIGH!

Skin problems are almost always rectified with a good diet, some homeopathy and good shampoos!

Anyways,

On the bright side, he has made a 100% recovery from his road accident, my baby can walk, bark, run, play , eat and tear apart any pillow he finds ❤ All credit goes to our wonderful vet, who uses both medicine and alternative therapy, my mum the fantastic reiki healer, and the love my brats give him everyday ( he is THOROUGHLY spoilt by them )

He eats a diet of commercial food ( it was pedigree initially, but we moved to RC to help his skin ) and meat and rice.

Brownie pup is having a blast at home with the brats, and he will be attending the christmas adoption drive, Merry Woofmas later this month.

Wish him luck ❤Image

Brownie Pup

Remember the post about the hit and run pups? All the babies got adopted, and we took in the pup who had severe brain damage, a broken neck and jaw, he was totally dis-oriented, bleeding from the nose, lost his vision, and was almost succumbing to his injuries.

Guess what, our darling has recovered, fully, 100%. We are SO happy and Proud of him! He has been named Brownie Pup, our lil champ can now eat liquid food, walk around and interact with my brat pack at home 🙂

All thanks goes to our wonderful vet, and the Reiki that Brownie  dear so happily accepted 🙂

We feel blessed!
