Another hit and run

We found a liter of 5 pups on my road.

Surprising because i thought all the street babies were neutered, at least all the females and the friendly males.

So where did this batch of 5 come from, they seem to be around 2 months old, healthy and huddled together on the pavement.

I found out from the auto-drivers that a family with a GSD dog had mated with a street romeo doggie and had a liter, the family took care of the pups and vaccinated them before deserting them on the pavement and moving away with their own dog.

This morning i woke up with a queasy feeling, asked mum if we could bring the pups home, i know its difficult to find homes for pups that are 2-3 months, most successful adoptions happen when the pups area a month to forty five days of age.

But still..something made me want to bring them up.

When we went we found 2 pups injured, by a hit and run bike, 3 pups were ok and we had the fastest ever adoption, with the kind auto-men and some people i know who came forward to give the babies a better life.

But we lost one and the other is with me now, he has a broken jaw, broken nose, brain tissue damage, please please pray for him. His x-rays are taken, he is on anti-inflammatory drugs, painkillers and sedatives, we are praying for the best for him.

  1. Reading this post after having read that Brownie Pup did survive… I wish we had more places and more awareness about these places, so nobody left pups on the road sides… and now with Diwali around it’s only going to get worse. đŸ˜¦

    • Agreed and if only people who have female dogs in heat take care to either spay them or keep them indoors, so many unwanted litters can be avoided.

Am worried sick for my street babies who have to endure the Diwali noise. I plan to board some of them for the 3 days of noise.

Are your pets ok with the noise?
